Area Tips

No sandy beaches here, mostly black lava rocks and white coral. Reef shoes are recommended. The easiest snorkeling entry is a channel entry on the far right side of the beach. Enter through and make your way to the right. The left side tends to be rough. High tide makes for an easier entry.

Marine Life

Abundant Coral, filled with diverse fish. Keep an eye out for spinner dolphins which frequent Kealakekua Bay.

Amenities

Although lacking in amenities such as restrooms and showers, Manini Beach is a great picnic area with plenty of shade and a perfect view of Captian Cook Monument and Kealakekua Bay.

Accessibility

Head south on highway 11. Just before the 111 mile marker, look for a small sign at Napo'opo'o Rd. Head right down the steep, windy road. Enjoy scenic ride for until the bottom of the hill where you will take a left, and the right onto Manini Beach road.
