Snorkeling in Kawaihae Harbor is fair. You won't see many fish here, however the harbor is big and entry is easy, so you may want to make time to explore here. New security regulations make it diffucult to enter through the main area, so try entering through the canoe enterance. The best snorkeling is to the right and around the point.

Sea life in Kawaihae harbor is sparse, but keep an eye out for Manta rays!

Kawaihae Harbor facilities include:

Head north on Highway 19. Merge left onto highway 270. You will see the main enterance to the harbor. If you drive a little further, the next entrance will take you to the canoe entry. If you enter through the main entrance, you will need photo. Once you have entered the harbor, head left.
