South Kiholo Bay has easy access, right from the black sand beach. However the water here is rough, and often times dangerous with shallow, shoreline coral. When waters are calm, head toward the left of the beach for the best snorkeling. When waters are rough, try the calm, well protected North Kiholo Bay, just to the north. South Kiholo is usually uncrowded, except on holidays, and when windsurefrs show up, which means conditions aren't ideal for snorkeling.

The only facilites you will find here are

•  a single portapottie
•  black, sandy beach.

On highway 19, look for mile marker 82.5. The mile marker is not easily visible from the highway, so watch carefully. At this exact point, take the gravel road that heads down to the ocean. The road is a one lane public access road, and is fairly bumpy. As you appraoch the ocean, in .9 miles, you will find parking near the portapottie.
